Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And we know from these books:
First: The Torah, which Allah the Exalted revealed to Musa (peace be upon him), and it is the greatest of the books of the Children of Israel
in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted [to Allah] judged by it for the Jews, as did the rabbis and scholars by that with which they were entrusted of the Scripture of Allah, and they were witnesses thereto فيها هدى ونور يحكم بها النبيون الذين أسلموا للذين هادوا والربانيون والأحبار بما استحفظوا من كتاب الله وكانوا عليه شهداء
[Al-Ma'idah 5:44]
"
. What is written in the Torah? Yes?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Yes. Among them is the verse of retaliation
And We ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye وكتبنا عليهم فيها أن النفس بالنفس والعين بالعين
[Al-Ma'idah 5:45]
and so on.
And among them is the description of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); this is written in the Torah and the Gospel
whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong الذين يجدونه مكتوبا عندهم في التوراة والإنجيل يأمرهم بالمعروف وينهاهم عن المنكر
[Al-A'raf 7:157]
and so on.
And the wonder is that the Children of Israel, due to their wickedness, their plotting, and their disbelief, denied this, even though it exists in the Torah and the Gospel: Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Indeed, Allah the Exalted said that they
know him as they know their own sons يعرفونه كما يعرفون أبناؤهم
[Al-Baqarah 2:146]
.
He specified sons, because a son is more precious in his father's heart than? than a daughter, so he cares for him more. They know the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) as they know their sons, but, may Allah protect us, when it came to them, they did not know it and disbelieved in it. And Allah knows best. Yes.
The student: The issue of securing the dead in his grave, meaning not securing it.

The Shaykh : May Allah grant him understanding. He is enumerating the specific revealed books sent to the messengers. The Torah, and we have finished speaking about it.
