What is the ruling on one who calls for the unity of religions?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. As for one who calls for the unity of religions, the call for the unity of religions, Shaykh, what do we say about them, even though some of them are callers to Islam?

The Shaykh : We see that the one who calls for the unity of religions in the sense of saying that all religions are acceptable, we see that he is a caller to disbelief, and it is not permissible to unify the religions. And where is the religion? Is there any religion on earth other than Islam?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : I ask you now, I ask you all now, is there any religion on earth other than Islam?
The student: No.

The Shaykh : All religions are invalid and are not considered a religion. So whoever calls for their unification in the sense of affirming them and that they are acceptable to Allah, he is undoubtedly an apostate from Islam, and a caller to disbelief.
As for the one who calls for the unification of religions in the sense that we let every person be on his own religion, we look at it: if his intention is to abolish jihad and erase it from the list of Islam, then he is an apostate. And if his intention is that the Muslim community today is unable to preserve itself, let alone try to reform others, then this is correct and necessary. That is, it is necessary to establish a treaty because we are actually incapable. We are completely incapable, O brothers, and do not be deceived by the drumming and exaggeration. Now, we seek the favor of the Jews with what? With peace. We seek the favor of the Jews with peace, while the people who call from their imagination or for their own benefit say: We will throw Israel into what? Into the sea. The brothers, perhaps the young ones who did not grasp these huge advertisements, say: We will throw Israel into the sea, and tomorrow Umm Kulthum will sing in the middle of Tel Aviv. Yes, thank Allah for the victory, O Allah, grant us well-being, but Umm Kulthum sang over their remains. So the important thing, O our brothers, is that those who call for the unification of religions, if they intend it to be a religion acceptable to Allah, then this is apostasy, because it is a denial of the Qur'an. And if they intend by unification that we let every person be on his own religion and we remain silent, then this is also abolishing jihad in the path of Allah. And if they intend by it reconciliation and truce as long as we are incapable, then this is the truth.
And a person must look at reality, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is the most wise of creation. He looked at reality in the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, and committed to what some of the revolutionaries among us consider defeatism, where what? Where he agreed to the harsh conditions that those who look at the matter from the beginning, like whom? Like 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), were unable to bear, because he looked at the matter from its beginning, from its surface, not from its depth. So he came and said to the Messenger: How do we give humiliation in our religion, and how do we do this and how do we do that? But the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) answered him with a convincing answer, saying:
I am the Messenger of Allah إني رسول الله
meaning: And I will not deviate from the guidance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic),
And I am not disobedient, and He is my supporter ولست عاصيه، وهو ناصري
three sentences that silence every person.
Messenger of Allah, and I am not disobedient, and He is my supporter رسول الله ولست عاصيه وهو ناصري
. Victory must be ours. So 'Umar went to Abu Bakr and said to him what he said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He replied to him exactly as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had replied. And by this we know that Abu Bakr was more composed and stronger in steadfastness than? Than 'Umar and others, a fortiori, because he was patient in places of hardship more than 'Umar was patient. This is one place, and the second place is at the death of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), when it was said that the Messenger had died and his death was announced.
