And We Believe in the Bliss of the Grave for the Believers: << الذين تتوفاهم الملآئكة طيبين يقولون سلام عليكم ادخلوا الجنة بما كنتم تعملون >> [Surat al-Nahl
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said: "And We Believe in the Bliss of the Grave for the Believers".
This is part of the creed of the people of the Sunnah and the community: affirming the bliss of the grave.
And its evidence is: "[An-Nahl 16:32]" This means being good in creed and good in deeds. When do they say it? They say it at the time of their passing: [An-Nahl 16:32] [An-Nahl 16:32] meaning on that day.
So if someone says: It is difficult to reconcile this with the fact that the believing deceased is buried in the earth, so how can the angels say?
We say: It is established in the authentic hadith that the grave is made spacious for the deceased person, may Allah make us and you among them, and that a door to Paradise is opened for him, so he receives from its spirit and bliss what pleases his eye.
And His saying, the Exalted:[An-Nahl 16:32] The letter "ba" here indicates causality. If you say it indicates causality, you are correct. If you say it indicates exchange, this creates a contradiction with the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih Muslim 2818a Sahih Muslim 2816f. And here in the Noble Qur'an there are multiple verses that say: [Al-Ma'idah 5:105]
We say: How easy it is to reconcile this hadith with the verses. The "ba" in the verses is what? It indicates causality, meaning because of the deeds. And the "ba" in the hadith indicates exchange, just as you say, "I bought the garment from you for a dirham," so it is for exchange. No one can enter Paradise as an exchange for his deeds, but he enters Paradise by what? Because of his deeds. The difference is clear. If Allah the Exalted intended to exchange with you, you would certainly suffer a confirmed loss. If you counted what Allah has bestowed upon you of blessings, even just one type of blessing, it would consume what? All your deeds.
The soul that does not cause you difficulty, does not tire you, and does not burden you is a great and immense blessing. No one knows its value except one who is afflicted with shortness of breath. If this blessing were compared to your deeds, what would be the ratio of your deeds to the hours? That is, three hours a day and night? It might be, it might be four, it might be five. A person might spend all his time in obedience to Allah, even sleeping to help him with his obedience to Allah, to rest his body, and to give his soul its due. In this way, sleep becomes worship, because the truth is that the successful one is able to make all his times, movements, and stillnesses all worship. He is able to do so. If he eats, he intends to enjoy the generosity of Allah and the favor of Allah. And Allah the Exalted loves it from His servant when He bestows a blessing upon him that he sees the effect of His blessing upon him. He intends with his eating and drinking to strengthen himself for the obedience of Allah. Did it become worship or not? He intends with it to fulfill the duty of his soul, because a person must take care of himself. Even if he is hungry and fears death, what is the ruling on eating? It is obligatory for him to eat, as an obligation. If he says, "It is not obligatory, I am patient with death," we say: It does not become obligatory for you to eat. Is that clear?
So you eat to fulfill the right of the soul. So your eating now is what? Worship.
... Clothing: you wear the garment to cover your 'awrah (nakedness) and to enjoy its protection from cold or heat - may Allah have mercy on you -[An-Nahl 16:81] etc.
The important thing, my brothers, by Allah, many things pass us by and are lost to us, all because of heedlessness regarding intention. Otherwise, if we were mindful of intention, all our movements and stillnesses would be what? Worship for which we are rewarded.
I say: If one type of Allah's blessing upon you were compared to your righteous deeds, hey? It would consume it all. Then we say, as some scholars said: Your success in gratitude is a blessing that requires gratitude, because many people are deprived of gratitude. So if Allah bestows upon you and guides you to gratitude for the blessing and its use in the obedience of your Lord, this is a blessing that requires gratitude. And in this, the poet says:
"If my gratitude is a blessing of Allah, a blessing upon me, for Him, in its like, gratitude is obligatory
How can the fulfillment of gratitude be reached except by His grace, *** even if the days lengthen and life continues".
So the "ba" in His saying:[Al-Ma'idah 5:105] is not what? It is for causality, not for exchange.

The Shaykh : Huh?

The Shaykh : What?
The student: ... .
The Shaykh : Shall I repeat it, everyone?
The student: He wants to write it down.
The Shaykh : I understand. Shall we repeat it or not? Okay, let's repeat it.
The Arabs: the poet stands and recites fifty verses to them, then leaves, and they all memorize them. And you are unable to memorize two verses. He says:
"If my gratitude is a blessing of Allah, a blessing *** Upon me, for it, gratitude is obligatory in its like" Write it down. Do you not have paper? This is paper.
"Upon me, for it, gratitude is obligatory in its like" Write it down and give it to me so I can see if your writing is Arabic or what? Hey? Russian. Give it to me in both languages so we can see. Okay, listen.
"If my gratitude is a blessing of Allah, a blessing *** Upon me, for it, gratitude is obligatory in its like" This is the second half of the verse.
The second verse:
"So how can the attainment of gratitude be except by His favor" "So how can the attainment of gratitude be except by His favor" This is the first half of the verse.
"And if the days lengthen and life continues".
Did you write it? What did you write? That's it, what Allah willed!
The student: ... .
The Shaykh :"So how can the attainment of gratitude be except by His favor *** And if the days lengthen and life continues".
But dictation has rules that you can observe. May Allah bless you.
This is part of the creed of the people of the Sunnah and the community: affirming the bliss of the grave.
And its evidence is: "
The ones whom the angels take in death, [being] good and pure; [the angels] will say, "Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise for what you used to do."
الذين تتوفاهم الملائكة طيبين يقولون سلام عليكم ادخلوا الجنة بما كنتم تعملونThose whom the angels take in death, in good condition
الذين تتوفاهم الملائكة طيبينEnter Paradise for what you used to do."
ادخلوا الجنة بما كنتم تعملونEnter Paradise for what you used to do."
ادخلوا الجنة بما كنتم تعملونSo if someone says: It is difficult to reconcile this with the fact that the believing deceased is buried in the earth, so how can the angels say
Enter Paradise
ادخلوا الجنةWe say: It is established in the authentic hadith that the grave is made spacious for the deceased person, may Allah make us and you among them, and that a door to Paradise is opened for him, so he receives from its spirit and bliss what pleases his eye.
And His saying, the Exalted:
Enter Paradise for what you used to do."
ادخلوا الجنة بما كنتم تعملونnone would be able to get into Paradise because of his deeds alone
لن يدخل الجنة أحد بعملهNone amongst you can get. into Paradise by virtue of his deeds alone. They said: Allah's Messenger, not even you? Thereupon he said: Not even I, but that Allah should wrap me in His Grace and Mercy.
لن يدخل الجنة أحد بعمله قالوا : ولا أنت يا رسول الله؟ قال : ولا أنا إلا أن يتغمدني الله برحمتهof what you used to do.
بما كنتم تعملونWe say: How easy it is to reconcile this hadith with the verses. The "ba" in the verses is what? It indicates causality, meaning because of the deeds. وجعل لكم سرابيل تقيكم الحر وسرابيل تقيكم بأسكمThe important thing, my brothers, by Allah, many things pass us by and are lost to us, all because of heedlessness regarding intention. Otherwise, if we were mindful of intention, all our movements and stillnesses would be what? Worship for which we are rewarded.
