And the evidence that the servant's action is by his choice and his power is as follows: The first: The saying of the Exalted: << فأتوا حرثكم أنى شئتم >> [ al-Baqarah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : For this reason, he said: " And the evidence that the servant's action is by his choice and his power is as follows:
The first: The saying of the Exalted:
so come to your place of cultivation however you wish
[Al-Baqarah 2:223]
"
Your wives are a place of sowing of seed for you, so come to your place of cultivation however you wish
[Al-Baqarah 2:223]
Come to this, is this an action or not an action?
The student : An action.

The Shaykh : You wished?
The student : An action, likewise.

The Shaykh : No, it is desire and will, so He affirmed for the servant an action and affirmed for him a will. And the meaning is: Come to your wives in their receptivity from whichever direction you wish.
" And His saying:
And if they had intended to go forth, they would have prepared for it [some] preparation
[At-Tawbah 9:46]
"
.
if they had intended to go forth, they would have prepared
[At-Tawbah 9:46]
We have desire and we have preparation, so the desire is the will and the preparation is the action.
For this reason, he said: " Thus He affirmed for the servant coming with his will " ? In which of the two verses? The first. " And preparing with his desire " in His saying:
And if they had intended to go forth, they would have prepared for it [some] preparation
[At-Tawbah 9:46]
And the verses in this regard are many. Does reason and sense agree with that or not? It agrees with that. All people know that their actions are by their desire and their power. This is one aspect. This is evidence from the report.
