Driving Away Anxiety and Resentment When Desired Things Are Missed or Disliked Things Occur

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"Fourth: Driving away anxiety and resentment when desired things are missed or disliked things occur, because that is by the decree of Allah the Exalted, who owns the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and it is bound to happen. So one should be patient with it and seek reward." This is also among the benefits and fruits of faith in divine decree: it drives away anxiety and resentment. Because a person says to himself: whatever the matter is, the situation can never change from what it was. For example, if a person does an action intending to fix something of his property, but as a result the property is destroyed. He intended to fix, say, a pen, but it broke while he was fixing it. He intended good, but the decree was otherwise. When this happens, you say: I believe in the decree and destiny of Allah, and that Allah is the One who decreed this. I believe that the situation can never be other than what it is. It is a matter that cannot be remedied; what has happened can never be undone, and what Allah has decreed cannot be prevented.
O Allah! No-one can withhold what You give, and none can give what You withhold اللهم لا مانع لما أعطيت ولا معطي لما منعت
Sahih al-Bukhari 6615
So he believes that it is by the decree and destiny of Allah, who owns the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and that it is bound to happen. So he is patient with it and seeks reward.
