Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: ...

The Shaykh : He says, "What is the need for us to ask, 'What is the wisdom?' If the Messenger did something, we do it, and if he said something, we comply. There is no need to ask, 'What is the wisdom?' We say, 'Yes, we say this is the principle.' But there is no doubt that understanding the wisdom has benefits:
First, the person increases in tranquility, is that not so?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : Second, by it, he knows the nobility of the Shari'ah and its consideration of public benefits, and he increases in honoring the Shari'ah.
Third, by it, he refutes the doubts of the one who raises them, because a person who is a hypocrite or an atheist, or who has ulterior motives, may come to you and raise issues, asking, 'What is the wisdom? And what is the wisdom?' You understand, so there is no doubt that knowing the operative causes and rulings is beneficial for the student of knowledge from several angles. Yes, Waleed?
