Commentary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn: (( When He came to them with the truth )) with the truth (( from Us, they said, Kill the sons of those who believe with him and keep alive ))

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
And when he brought them the truth فلما جاءهم بالحق
[Ghafir 40:25]
Allah sent him with the signs, and they said, "A sorcerer and a liar": "
And when he brought them the truth فلما جاءهم بالحق
[Ghafir 40:25]
with the truth
from Us من عندنا
"
from Allah the Exalted, which is the revelation. When Musa (peace be upon him) said to them that Allah is your Lord and that Allah is One, and so on, which was the subject of the dialogue between him and Pharaoh, and this is mentioned in Surat al-Shu'ara, Surat al-Isra, and others. When he came to them with the truth, which they were unable to counter with a compelling argument, Pharaoh threatened Musa and said:
If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." لئن اتخذت إلها غيري لأجعلنك من المسجونين
[Ash-Shu'ara 26:29]
This is a threat, another matter: "
they said, "Kill the sons of those who have believed with him and keep their قالوا اقتلوا أبناء الذين آمنوا معه واستحيوا
[Ghafir 40:25]
preserve
their women نسائهم
"
And thus, the killing of the sons of the Children of Israel and the taking of their women occurred twice: the first time before Musa was sent, and the second time after he was sent.
Kill the sons of those who have believed with him and keep their women alive اقتلوا أبناء الذين آمنوا معه واستحيوا نسائهم
[Ghafir 40:25]
and so on.
