The student: The absence of tanween.
The Shaykh : The absence of tanween. Ibn Malik said:
Inflection is a tanween that comes to clarify a meaning, by which the noun becomes more distinct.
This is inflection.[Fussilat 41:17] The commentator said: We made clear to them the path of guidance "So the guidance here is guidance of clarification, meaning the truth was made clear to them. And know that everyone who disbelieves, he disbelieved after the truth had become clear to him when the Messenger came to him, because the Messengers (peace and blessings be upon them) clarify the truth; they do not leave anything that needs clarification without clarifying it. He said here: " meaning We made clear to them the path of truth, so the guidance here is guidance of clarification and direction. " they chose disbelief" meaning guidance of success, meaning they preferred blindness, which is disbelief, over guidance, which is Islam. [Fussilat 41:17] meaning the punishment of the thunderbolt, because Thamud were shouted at and shaken, so they were struck dead; they perished as a single man would perish, becoming prostrate in their homes—seeking refuge in Allah—on their knees, motionless. And His saying: the punishment of humiliation, means the humiliating punishment, because humiliation is degradation. The ba is for causality, and either it is a relative pronoun, in which case its referent is omitted, the estimation being: for what they used to earn, or it is a preposition of source, in which case it does not require a referent, and the estimation being: for their earning.
And as for Thamud, We guided them
