What is the ruling if someone sneezes while the imam is delivering the Friday sermon and you hear him say, "Praise be to Allah"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And peace be upon you. Yes. Please, go ahead.

The questioner : For example, if someone sneezes while the imam is delivering the Friday sermon, what must he do? And he said, "Praise be to Allah"?

The Shaykh : Are you asking about the one who sneezes, or about the one who hears the sneeze?

The questioner : The one who hears the sneeze.

The Shaykh : He does nothing.

The questioner : Does he not say to him, "May Allah have mercy on you"?

The Shaykh: No.

The questioner : The one who sneezes.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : And the one who sneezes, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : He praises Allah to himself.

The questioner : And likewise in prayer.

The Shaykh : There is a consideration regarding prayer. No, sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has broad scope and no limits. As for sneezing, its response is specific to a moment. Welcome, welcome, and peace be upon you. How are you? Do you have something? Give it to me, and I will send it to Abu Muhammad, if Allah wills.

The questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. The response to a sneeze is immediate, and it is obligatory. As for sending blessings upon the Messenger (peace be upon him), its scope is broad; whenever it comes to your mind or you have the time, you send blessings upon the Messenger (peace be upon him), and for every such sending of blessings, you receive ten good deeds. Therefore, the ruling differs here: praising Allah in response to a sneeze is obligatory, whereas sending blessings upon the Messenger (peace be upon him) in this situation does not exceed the ruling of enjoining good and forbidding evil. Nevertheless, the Messenger (peace be upon him) prohibited enjoining good and forbidding evil during the sermon, because that would lead the listeners to be distracted from paying attention to the preacher.
