Among the benefits of His saying, the Exalted: [Ali 'Imran 3:18] to its end, is the clarification of the virtue of tawhid (the oneness of Allah), where Allah informed His servants of it using the wording of testimony. Among its benefits is the virtue of the angels, where Allah the Exalted placed them in the first rank to testify to this tawhid. Among its benefits is also the virtue of knowledge and its people, due to His saying: . Among its benefits is the indication of the condemnation of ignorance, since the ignorant person does not testify that there is no god but Allah, meaning he does not have in his heart what supports this, even if he says it with his tongue. So the testimony of the scholar that there is no god but Allah is not like the testimony of the general public from the perspective of Allah the Mighty and Majestic giving it its due value, because he says it out of emotion and out of magnifying Allah, but it is not like the one who is high [Az-Zumar 39:9]. Among the benefits of the noble verse is the emphasis of the important matter, even if the one reporting it is from the people of truth. From where is this taken? From His saying: But because this matter is important and great, Allah the Exalted began it with testimony and clarified that this testimony is not for Him alone, but for Him, for the angels, and for those possessing knowledge. Among the benefits of the noble verse is describing Allah the Exalted with perfect justice, due to His saying: , meaning with justice, whether it relates to His action or to His judgment between His servants, meaning whether it relates to the judgment between Him and His servants or between His servants with one another. So Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, does not wrong anyone, and Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, judges for people with justice. Branching from this issue is a great benefit that some people fear, which is: some of the oppressors invoke against the oppressed. Is his invocation accepted? No, because this is contrary to the justice with which Allah is described. Some people also invoke against the judge who ruled with truth. Is it accepted from him? No, because this is transgression. One of the judges told me that he ruled against a person, and when the ruling was finished, this person stood up, faced the qiblah, and extended his hands to Allah, invoking against this judge. Yes? So the judge, meaning he seemed afraid of this invocation. I said to him: Do not fear, do not fear, no matter how much he invokes, and you are on the truth, then Allah will not accept his invocation and will not respond to him, because Allah says: [Al-A'raf 7:55]. So whoever does not love the transgressors cannot possibly respond to him, and this is a transgressor as long as you know that you are on the truth and that you ruled in accordance with the Shari'ah, so do not be concerned with the invocation of the one invoking. Among the benefits of the noble verse is that Allah the Mighty and Majestic, when He informed, or rather when He testified to Himself regarding divinity, or regarding His singularity in divinity, He emphasized that by ruling with it for Himself, saying: . And this is not an emphasis of what came before, meaning it is not a repetition of the testimony with the wording of the report, but it is a ruling from Allah. Among the benefits of the noble verse is the singularity of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, in divinity. Branching from that is that whoever associates with Allah anyone in worship, meaning worships him as Allah is worshipped, then he is a mushrik (one who associates partners with Allah) and his work is contrary to this tawhid. Among the benefits of the noble verse is affirming might and wisdom for Allah in His saying: . Among its benefits is that the might of Allah, and among it is dominance and subjugation of others, is a might built upon wisdom and placing things in their proper places. And this is taken from combining the two noble names with each other. Did you understand? Because the might of a created being from among the created may take him by name, so he does not speak the truth nor guide to it. But Allah the Mighty and Majestic speaks the truth with the perfection of His might. Then Allah the Exalted said: [Ali 'Imran 3:19] Is this the beginning of the lesson tonight?
