Explanation of the Author's Statement: The Chapter on What Has Come Regarding Fortune-Tellers and the Like

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"Fortune-tellers and the like" The fortune-tellers (kahhan) is the plural of kahin, and al-kahana is also a plural of kahin. They are people who reside in the Arab tribes, to whom people turn for judgment. Satans connect with them and inform them of what has come from the sky, stealing the hearing from the heavens and then coming to inform the fortune-teller. The fortune-teller then adds to this news whatever false news he adds and informs the people. When something of what he reported comes to pass, the people believe him to be one who knows the unseen, so they turn to him for judgment. Thus, they are the people's reference for rulings, which is why they are called fortune-tellers. Yes, these are the fortune-tellers. So the fortune-tellers are men who reside in the Arab tribes, with whom satans connect and steal the hearing for them. Then what? They inform with what was stolen for them and add to it false things. When the matter comes to pass as they reported, people are deceived by them. So they speak about matters in the future, informing about future matters, saying such and such will happen, such and such will happen.
