The recommended practice of raising the voice in dhikr after the five daily prayers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: What is the ruling on collective dhikr after the prayer, where everyone recites in unison as some people do? And is the recommended practice to raise the voice in dhikr or to keep it low?

A: The recommended practice is to raise the voice in dhikr after the five daily prayers and after the Friday prayer, following the taslim. This is based on what is established in the two Sahihs from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that raising the voice in dhikr when people leave the obligatory prayer was the practice during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Ibn Abbas said: I would know when they had left by that, when I heard it.
As for it being collective in the sense that each person tries to match the other’s recitation from beginning to end and imitates him in that, this has no basis; rather, it is a religious innovation. What is prescribed is that they remember Allah together without intending to synchronize their voices at the start and end.
