Ruling on one who feels the exit of urine drops after washing the area
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Our brother here says: When he urinates and the urine stops for a little, then after he washes the area of urination and moves, he feels that something has come out of him, and that it takes a long time to end, with drops coming out after that. He asks: What should I do? Do I suffice with the first wudu, wash the area, and complete my wudu, or do I wait until it ends? Please advise us, may Allah reward you.
A: This matter may occur under the category of waswas (whispers) and illusions, and it is from Shaytan. It may also occur to some people in reality. If it is real, one should not rush until the urine stops, then he should wash his private part with water and be done. If he fears something after that, let him sprinkle water around the private area after the wudu, then attribute whatever he may imagine after that to this water that he sprinkled around the private area; for the Sunnah has come with this. This may help him in leaving these waswas.
Nor should the believer pay attention to these waswas; because this emboldens Shaytan against him, and Shaytan is eager to corrupt the deeds of the children of Adam, such as prayer and others.
So it is obligatory to be cautious of his schemes and whispers, and to rely upon Allah, and to attribute whatever waswas may occur to him to Shaytan, so that he does not pay attention to them. If something comes out of him with certainty, without doubt, he repeats the istinja (cleaning) and repeats the wudu. But as long as there is doubt, even if it is little, he does not pay attention to it; by presumption of continuity of purity, and by fighting Shaytan. For this reason, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked, and it was said: O Messenger of Allah, a man imagines that he finds something in the prayer? He said:Sahih Muslim 361

He should not return (from prayer) unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell (of passing wind).
