The passage of some drops of urine after istinja'

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 4279 )
Q: I, after urinating—may Allah keep you safe—and completing the istinja' from the urine, feel some drops of urine passing after a short period, and what I used to do was change my underwear for other clothes, with the trouble that entails. I do this every time I urinate. What I want is for you to be gracious and guide me to what I must do, and may Allah reward you?
A: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions.. And after:
If the situation is as you described, and if you know that the drops that come out after urination in a short time stop afterwards, then it is obligatory for you not to perform istinja' or istijmar until they stop. However, if the interval is long, what is obligatory for you is to repeat the istinja' and the wudu', and to wash what that affected on the clothes. You should not act on doubt; because Satan may make it seem to you that something of urine has passed when in reality it has not. So do not repeat the istinja' except after being certain that something of urine has passed. It is prescribed for you to sprinkle water around the private parts after finishing the wudu' so that you attribute the doubt to that. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
