Q: A questioner asks and says: I traveled to the Noble Mecca to perform 'Umrah, and the Friday prayer caught up with me while I was near one of the cities on the road. I prayed Friday with the Muslims in the mosque, and after completing the prayer, since I was a traveler, I stayed and prayed 'Asr. Is my action permissible? Please issue a ruling, and may you be rewarded.
A: As far as we know, there is no evidence indicating the permissibility of combining 'Asr with Friday, and this was not reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) nor from any of his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) . Therefore, it is obligatory to leave that practice, and whoever does it must repeat the 'Asr prayer when its time enters. May Allah guide them all.
