The Ruling on Traveling to Offer Condolences to a Relative or Friend

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: What is the ruling on traveling to offer condolences to a relative or friend, and is it permissible to offer condolences before the burial?

A: We are not aware of any harm in traveling to offer condolences to a relative or friend, because of the comfort, sympathy, and alleviation of the pain of the calamity that this entails. There is no harm in offering condolences before or after the burial, and the closer it is to the time of the calamity, the more complete it is in alleviating its pain. And success is from Allah.
