Ruling on Bringing Cold Water to Drink at the Grave

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: His Eminence, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Abdulaziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz (may Allah preserve him) and prolong his life.
Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. And after that:
I have a question: A person passed away on a day when the weather was hot, and they took him to the cemetery to bury him (may Allah have mercy on him). They were exhausted from the heat, and a man brought them cold water so they could drink from it after their exertion. Some said: This is not permissible. Others said: This is a religious innovation. O Shaykh, is there anything wrong with this act? Please inform us, may Allah reward you, and may Allah preserve and protect you— A. A. A. A.

A: And upon you be peace, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
There is no blame in what you mentioned; rather, that is an act of excellence and assistance in doing good. May Allah guide them all.
