Ruling on limiting oneself to one of the two surahs, al-Sajdah and al-Dahr, in the Fajr prayer on Friday

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is it permissible to limit oneself to one of the two surahs, namely Surat al-Sajdah and Surat al-Dahr, in the Fajr prayer on Friday?

A: The Sunnah is to recite both of them and not to limit oneself to one of them; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayersصلوا كما رأيتموني أصلي
Sahih al-Bukhari 6008
and the generality of His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He) :
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent patternلَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ
[Al-Ahzab: 21], and because of the reviving of the Sunnah and preserving it therein, and success is from Allah.
