There is no blame on the People of the House in accepting voluntary charity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: His Eminence the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, our father, Shaykh 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Baz (may Allah preserve him), amen.
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
We, Your Eminence, are from the tribe of the Ashraf, and we have proof that we meet in the pure lineage of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
My question, Your Eminence the Mufti: Is charity permissible for us, knowing that there are people from the same tribe who, if they receive monetary charity, i.e., financial, they permit taking it and make it lawful for themselves, but if they receive charity in the form of food, such as grain, rice, dates, or the like, they do not accept it and forbid it for themselves?
Their argument is that if the charity is monetary, it is permissible for them and they take it, but if it is something to be eaten or worn, they forbid it.
I ask Your Eminence for a sufficient and comprehensive explanation so that we may know what is correct and follow it, and know what is wrong and avoid it. May Allah guide you and keep your steps steady, and make your knowledge blessed, and place it in the scale of your good deeds. And peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

A: And upon you be peace, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, after that:
Authentic hadiths have been established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) indicating the prohibition of zakah for the People of the House, namely the Banu Hashim, whether it is in currency or otherwise. As for voluntary charity, there is no blame in it.
It is obligatory for you all to be cautious of what Allah has forbidden for you and to advise one another to leave it. May Allah guide them all, and peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
