A discussion regarding the consideration of the Asha'irah and the Maturidiyyah as belonging to the people of the Sunnah and the community

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student : As for the Jahmiyyah, the Qadiyyah, the Murji'ah, the Mu'tazilah, and other misguided sects, are they considered from the people of the Sunnah? Are they considered from the people of the Sunnah and the community? Why? Because they are not.

The Shaykh : Are the Maturidiyyah from the people of the Sunnah and the community or not? The Asha'irah, leave me alone with the Qadiyyah, that is a new sect. The Maturidiyyah and the Asha'irah have been around for a thousand years, and the Hanafis, especially the non-Arabs among them, are all Maturidi.
The student : But they have corruption in their methodology, meaning they do not understand the methodology.

The Shaykh : O Shaykh, may Allah guide you, are we not currently discussing whether they have corruption or not? We are discussing what the meaning of Maturidi is? What does it mean to be Hanafi?
The student : Maturidi... in creed.

The Shaykh : What does it mean to be Hanafi? It means belonging to Abu Hanifah. Now, whether the madhhab of Abu Hanifah is correct or incorrect is a separate discussion, but what does Hanafi mean? It means belonging to Abu Hanifah.
The student : Abu Hanifah.

The Shaykh : What does Maturidi mean? It means belonging to Abu Mansur al-Maturidi. What does Ash'ari mean? It means belonging to Abu al-Hasan al-Ash'ari. Are there deviations in this or not? That is a separate topic. In general, does the madhhab of al-Maturidi or al-Ash'ari agree with the Salafi madhhab or not?
The student : It does not agree.

The Shaykh : I told you just now that these people say: "The madhhab of the Salaf is safer, and the madhhab of the Khalaf is more knowledgeable and more precise."
The student : This contradicts the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).

The Shaykh : My brother, we are not concerned with the details, may Allah reward you. So when you say I am from the people of the Sunnah, who are these people of the Sunnah? In the understanding of people, who are the people of the Sunnah? They are the Maturidiyyah and the Asha'irah. But now you are introducing a sound meaning into the term "people of the Sunnah and the community," but this meaning exists in your mind, not in the mind of the Islamic world. Perhaps you understood me?
The student : Yes, yes.

The Shaykh: All right.
The student : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.
