Advice from the Shaykh to a man who claimed that the Torah is not the word of Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : I advise you first not to delve into matters you are not capable of delving into, in any field of knowledge; for Allah (Mighty and Majestic) disciplined us in the Qur'an when He said:
And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned.
[Al-Isra 17:36]
. And finally, I remind you of the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), and this is a principle from which many Muslim youths have strayed—truly Muslim, but truly strayed from the understanding of the Book and the Sunnah due to old and new sects who interpret the Qur'an according to their desires, not according to the language of the Qur'an and the explanation of the Messenger (peace be upon him). I remind you of His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He):
And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination.
[An-Nisa 4:115]
. My purpose in citing this verse is that it is not permissible for any Muslim, no matter how good his intention is, let alone if his intention is bad, to apply his intellect, his knowledge, his ignorance, or whatever he wishes to the words of Allah and the hadith of the Messenger of Allah, interpreting them as they appear to him, when he is not among the people of knowledge, as I mentioned earlier. And even if he were among them, he must follow the path of the believers, for Allah says:
and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination.
[An-Nisa 4:115]
. Now, I remind you of two sects. Do you know a sect called the Bahai?
The student : The Bahai.

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student : No... I know.

The Shaykh : You know nothing about them?
The student: No.

The Shaykh : Ah, they claimed that a prophet came to them in Iran who wanted to unite the three religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. So he was neither a Jew, nor a Christian, nor a Muslim. So you know nothing about them. Another question: Do you know anything about the Qadiani?
The student : By Allah, I do not know.

The Shaykh : You do not know again. The Qadiani testify, unlike the Bahai, that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. They pray, they fast, and they perform Hajj. But you do not know that they say that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is not the Seal of the Prophets. But did they lie about His saying (Exalted is He):
but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets
[Al-Ahzab 33:40]
? No, because if they had denied it explicitly, they would have exited the religion, their affair would have ended, and the truth of their call would have been exposed. Do not hold it against me if I say to you now, while I am completely ignorant of who I am speaking with, that you may be afflicted with what afflicted them. For they interpreted "Seal of the Prophets" to mean: their adornment. This is what you are doing now with the verse we recited earlier and with the explicit hadith that
What Allah has not sent down in the Torah, the Gospel, or the Qur'an.
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 19:31
the Qur'an is the word of Allah, and the Torah and the Gospel are not the word of Allah? Who understands this? If this were a non-Arab who had learned Arabic like me, and he understood as you do, and you are perhaps a pure Arab, it would be a disgrace upon him, the non-Arab who learned Arabic, to understand this strange, bizarre understanding. This is how the Qadiani understood that verse, and there are many, many such cases, let alone the Bahai, let alone the Christians who hear the word of Allah explicitly when He says:
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three."
[Al-Ma'idah 5:73]
. They take some verses and doubt the general Muslims, saying: "Look, our Lord praised the Torah and the Gospel," and they do not refer to the other verses in which it is explicitly stated that they were altering the word of Allah, and so on. In summary, may Allah bless you. As I said, I do not know if I am with you recently or with someone else now. The time is not for a lecture, but for A, B, C.
So I say to you finally: Stop applying your intellect and your knowledge, if you have knowledge, in interpreting the Qur'an and the hadith independently of the understanding of the previous scholars, especially the Companions, the Successors, and those who followed them, whom the Messenger (may Allah's prayers and blessings be upon him) testified to as the best of people in the mass-transmitted hadith:
The best people are those living in my generation, and then those who will follow them, and then those who will follow the latter
Sahih al-Bukhari 3651
. These are the believers whom Allah (Mighty and Majestic) threatened those who oppose their path with Hellfire, and evil is the destination. And we ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to make us and you among those who listen to the statement and follow the best of it. And peace be upon you.
The student : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
