Explanation of the author's statement and his saying: (and He is severe in retribution)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then he said:
and He is severe in assault.
[Ar-Ra'd 13:13]
And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners.
[Ali 'Imran 3:54]
And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.
[An-Naml 27:50]
And his saying:
(15) Indeed, they are planning a plan, (16) But I am planning a plan.
[At-Tariq 86:15-16]
These are three attributes that are close in meaning: retribution (mihāl), plotting (makr), and scheming (kayd). As for retribution, it means taking by way of punishment. So his saying:
and He is severe in assault.
[Ar-Ra'd 13:13]
means severe in taking by way of punishment. It was also said that retribution means plotting, i.e., severe in plotting. It appears that, according to this interpretation, the word is derived from *hīlah* (stratagem), which is to use stratagems against one's opponent to bring him down. And his saying:
And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners.
[Ali 'Imran 3:54]
To whom does the pronoun in
They plotted
refer?
The Helpers

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : This is seen in Surat al-Imran, regarding the people of 'Isa
And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners.
[Ali 'Imran 3:54]
As for plotting, the scholars said in its interpretation that it means resorting to hidden means to bring down the opponent. That is, you do hidden things to bring down your opponent, and he does not sense them and does not know about them, but they are known and planned for you. If we were asked whether plotting is an attribute of praise or an attribute of blame,
The student: Praise.

The Shaykh : we would say that it is in a place of praise and in a place of blame. If it is in opposition to one who plots against you, it is praise, because it implies that you are stronger than he is. And if it is not in that context, it is blame. For this reason, Allah did not describe Himself with it except by way of opposition and restriction.
And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned
[Ali 'Imran 3:54]
But they plan, and Allah plans
[Al-Anfal 8:30]
And success is from Allah.

The questioner :
Does he not know that Allah sees?
[Al-'Alaq 96:14]
O Shaykh

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : Is it for the purpose of threat?

The Shaykh : Or for the purpose of threat, because it is on one side for threat and on the other side to support the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and strengthen him.

The questioner : Shaykh, an example of a vision intended for threat?

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : An example of a vision intended for threat that is linked to an action...

The Shaykh : Yes, this is
Does he not know that Allah sees?
[Al-'Alaq 96:14]

The questioner : Is this intended for threat?

The Shaykh : And success is from Allah.

The questioner :
Does he not know that Allah sees?
[Al-'Alaq 96:14]
O Shaykh

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : Is it for the purpose of guidance?

The Shaykh : Or for the purpose of threat, because it is on one side for threat and on the other side to support the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and strengthen him.
