We said the answer to this is easy. The meaning of His saying: "from one soul" is from one kind, and He made from it his wife, just as He the Exalted said: "Indeed, Allah has conferred a favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves."

The Shaykh : We said the answer to this is easy. The meaning of His saying:
from one soul من نفس واحدة
[An-Nisa 4:1]
is from one kind, and He made from it his wife, just as He the Exalted said:
Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses
[Ali 'Imran 3:164]
. The meaning of "one soul" is not Adam, but rather the souls of the children of Adam. The meaning is that He created us from one kind, and what happened of shirk (associating partners with Allah) with Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is something that occurs among the children of Adam, not from Adam. Is that clear? And indicating this is His saying:
(190) But when He gives them a good [child], they ascribe partners to Him concerning that which He has given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him. (191) Do they associate with Him those who create nothing and they are [themselves] created?
[Al-A'raf 7:190-191]
. He did not say "so Exalted is Allah above what they two associate," if it were specific to Adam and Eve, He would have said "what they two associate." Then, Adam and Eve did not associate with Allah what does not create anything, and the shirk only occurred, if the story were true, by naming the child 'Abd al-Harith. In any case, this story is not authentic, and for this reason we drew attention to it.
He said:
Rather go to Nuh, for he is the first Messenger whom Allah sent to the people of earth.
Sunan Ibn Majah 4312Sahih (Darussalam)
Is this the fourth or fifth sentence? "Allah created you with His Hand, made the angels prostrate to you, taught you the names of all things." Yes, the fourth. The fifth mentions the sin. It says: "Go to Noah." Noah is the second father of humanity, by the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He):
(77) And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] (78) And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: (79) "Peace upon Noah among the worlds."
[As-Saffat 37:77-79]
. So he is the second father of humanity, and the first is Adam. And His saying:
the first Apostle, Allah sent to the inhabitants of the earth
Sahih al-Bukhari 4476
is explicit that Adam was not a messenger, and that the first messenger was Noah. And indicating this is His saying the Exalted:
Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him
[An-Nisa 4:163]
. If there had been a messenger before Noah, He would have said "as We revealed to so-and-so and the prophets after him." And Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:
And We have already sent Noah and Abraham and placed in their descendants
[Al-Hadid 57:26]
meaning Noah and Ibrahim,
prophethood and the Book النبوة والكتاب
. And by this we also know the lie of those among the historians who said that Idris and Shit were messengers before Noah. Shit is not mentioned in the Qur'an, but we take what is mentioned in the Qur'an, which is Idris. For some historians mention that Idris was before Noah, and this is undoubtedly a lie, and it is not permissible to believe it, because no one of the messengers was before Noah, ever. It appears that Idris is from the prophets of the Children of Israel, because he is mentioned in the context of the prophets of the Children of Israel, so it appears that he is from them. If someone asks: Why was no one sent before Noah? The answer is what Allah mentioned in His saying:
Mankind was [of] one religion
[Al-Baqarah 2:213]
meaning upon the truth,
then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners and sent down with them the Scripture in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed
[Al-Baqarah 2:213]
. So the people were upon the truth, but when they multiplied and spread across the earth, they differed. So at that time, they needed messengers to judge between them by the truth. And in it is a hint that Adam was a prophet. And that has come from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in what al-Hatim narrated, in what Ibn Hibban narrated with a sound chain, that Adam was a prophet, spoken to, and Allah revealed to him by revelation a law suitable for the time he was in, so he worshipped by it, and his children at that time were few, upon their nature and upon their fitrah (innate natural disposition), so they took what their father was upon and worshipped Allah by it, until they multiplied and differed.
