Explanation of Ibn Malik's (may Allah have mercy on him) statement: "The rule for the doer is that it be connected *** And the rule for the object is that it be separated"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said: "The rule for the doer is that it be connected" The rule for the doer is that it be connected, meaning: connected to its verb, and that it come after it as well. So the verb is placed first, and then the doer follows it. You would say: "The man rode the car." This is the rule. The reason for this is that the doer is the one who performed the action, so he has a stronger claim to proximity than the object upon which the action was performed. "And the rule for the object is that it be separated" What does "separated" mean? It means: separated from the verb, because what is placed between it and what?
The student: The one who performs it.

The Shaykh : What is placed between it and the doer. The doer is placed between the verb and the object. The doer is placed between the verb and the object. Good. The example: "The man rode the car." This is the rule. "The man bought the house." "The student understood the lesson." This is the rule, and you have heard the reason.
