In His saying, the Exalted: "They wish to extinguish the light of Allah," is the lam here superfluous?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: His saying:
They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths يريدون ليطفئوا نور الله بأفواههم
[At-Tawbah 9:32]
.

The Shaykh : Yes, this is also superfluous; this lam is superfluous, because the meaning is: they wish to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths. And from that is also:
Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity إنما يريد الله ليذهب عنكم الرجس
[Al-Ahzab 33:33]
meaning: He wishes to remove.
