The ruling on one who has intercourse with his wife in Ramadan before dawn, and continues until the appearance of dawn
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: A man had intercourse with his wife in Ramadan before the appearance of dawn, and he remained in that state until after the appearance of dawn. What is required of them? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: They must repent and pay the expiation, which is freeing a slave. If they cannot do so, they must fast two consecutive months, sixty days. If they cannot do that either, they must feed sixty poor people, giving each poor person half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of the staple food of the land, which is approximately one and a half kilograms. In addition to the aforementioned expiation, each of them must make up the day on which the intercourse took place. May Allah improve their condition.
