The ruling on wearing a cap while in the state of ihram due to ignorance

Question: Your Eminence, I wore a cap while in the state of ihram during last year's Hajj, and I did not know the ruling. Do I owe an expiation? If so, and I do not have the money for it, what should I do? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer: In the name of Allah, and all praise is due to Allah. If you were ignorant and placed a ghutrah or a cap on your head, or if you were forgetful, then you owe nothing, and praise be to Allah.
