The ruling on fasting the white days of Sha'ban

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: What is the ruling on fasting the middle of Sha'ban, which are the days (13 - 14 - 15)?

Answer: It is recommended to fast three days of every month, whether in Sha'ban or otherwise; for it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he ordered Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As to do so, and it is also established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he advised Abu al-Darda and Abu Hurayrah to do so. If one fasts these three days in some months and not others, or fasts them at one time and leaves them off at another, there is nothing wrong with it; for it is a voluntary prayer, not an obligation. The best is to continue with it every month, if that is feasible for him.
