Q: Is it permissible to fast the White Days on dates other than their actual dates within the same month?
A: Voluntary fasting of three days each month is among the best of acts of worship. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised Abu Hurayrah and Abu Dharr to do so, and he said to Abu Dharr :Jami` at-Tirmidhi 761Hasan (Darussalam) It was narrated by al-Nasa'i and al-Tirmidhi , who said: The hadith of Abu Dharr is a good hadith. These days are the White Days. However, if one fasts three days other than these, whether from the beginning of the month, the end, or the middle, that is permissible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
