The entire month is a place for fasting three days, and fasting them on the white days is better

Question: Is it permissible to make up the white days such that a person starts fasting them, then something prevents him and cuts him off from fasting them?

Answer: It is prescribed for the believing man and woman to fast three days of every month. If he fasts them on the white days, that is better. If he fasts them on the rest of the month, that suffices; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recommended fasting three days of every month, and clarified that the white days are better than the others. So if the woman or the man fasts the white days, then they are occupied with something else, it is prescribed for them to fast from the rest of the month, and praise be to Allah. It is not called making up (qada'); because the entire month is a place for fasting from its beginning to its end. So if the believer or the believing woman fasts three days from its beginning, or its middle, or its end, the objective is achieved and the recommended practice (sunnah) is achieved, even if he did not fast them on the white days.
