The ruling on delegating the stoning of the pillars for a pregnant woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: When it came time to stone the pillars, I was unable to do so because I was pregnant. My father was with me and he stoned on my behalf. Is there anything required of me?

Answer: Stoning the pillars, like the other rites of Hajj, is obligatory for the one who is able to perform it himself. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And complete the Hajj and 'umrah for Allahوَأَتِمُّواْ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ لِلّهِ
[Surat al-Baqarah: 196]. Therefore, it is not permissible for anyone to be negligent in this matter, as some people do. We find them delegating someone to stone on their behalf, not because they are unable to stone, but to avoid the crowds. This is a serious error. However, if a person is unable, such as a sick person or a pregnant woman or the like, there is nothing wrong with it. And this woman has done nothing wrong, if Allah wills.
