Is the one performing tamattu' required to slaughter a sacrificial animal if he travels to Ta'if and returns?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: To His Eminence the Shaykh / Abdul Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – may Allah preserve him –
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings, and after that:
A Muslim from China asked me to seek a ruling from your Eminence on his behalf regarding the obligation of Hajj, stating: I left my country for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the intention of performing the obligatory Hajj as a mutamatti', so I entered the state of ihram from the miqat and arrived in Jeddah in the early days of Dhul-Hijjah. Then I traveled with a group of Muslims to the Noble Mosque of Makkah, where I performed the tawaf and sa'y for 'Umrah, shaved my head, and exited the state of ihram. The next day, I went to Ta'if to visit some relatives and stayed with them for a day, then returned to the Noble Mosque of Makkah. I entered the state of ihram again and completed the Hajj, and I returned to my country after performing the farewell tawaf.
Did I perform the obligatory Hajj in the most complete manner, or is a sacrificial animal due on me for leaving the Noble Mosque of Makkah for Ta'if before completing all the rites of Hajj? Please inform us, may Allah reward you, may Allah preserve you and care for you. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

Answer: And upon you be peace, and Allah's mercy and blessings:
If the situation is as the questioner described, then he owes nothing for his visit to Ta'if, but he owes the sacrificial animal for tamattu', which is one animal to be slaughtered in the Haram for the poor, if he has not already slaughtered the aforementioned sacrificial animal. May Allah guide everyone to what pleases Him, and peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
