The ruling on the one performing tamattu' who has completed 'Umrah and left Makkah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
If one visits the Prophet's Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him) between 'Umrah and Hajj, or goes to Ta'if, is he required to enter the state of ihram if he returns to Makkah while performing tamattu'?
He is not required to enter the state of ihram.Meaning: If the one performing tamattu' completes his 'Umrah and leaves Makkah for Ta'if, Jeddah, or Madinah, and then returns, he is not required to enter the state of ihram for Hajj; because he has returned to his base. When he came as a pilgrim, his base became Makkah. So if he travels to Madinah and then returns, he has returned to his base. He enters the state of ihram for Hajj on the Day of Tarwiyah from Makkah, just as if he were a resident of Makkah who went to Madinah during the months of Hajj and then returned from Madinah with the intention to perform Hajj that year. In that case, he is not required to enter the state of ihram for Hajj except from Makkah.
