There is no harm in taking a wage for teaching the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: Working in teaching the Qur'an and leading the mosque prayer. Is there any issue with taking a wage for it? And is it more scrupulous to leave it?

Answer: There is no blame in that; there is no blame in taking a wage for teaching the Qur'an and instructing in it, and there is nothing wrong with taking assistance or a reward for leading the mosque prayer, because leading the prayer occupies one's time, and so does the call to prayer.
But if one leaves it and Allah makes him self-sufficient, that is better. If he volunteers it and is content with what Allah has given him of lawful provision, that is good. And if one needs it, there is nothing wrong with it.
