The ruling on one who shortens his hair and puts on his clothes before completing the sa'y

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: A man performed five or six rounds of sa'y while forgetting or being ignorant, then he shortened his hair and put on his clothes. What is the ruling?

Answer: He must take off his clothes and put on the izar and rida, and complete what remains of his sa'y if the interval is short. He should then shave his head or shorten his hair, and then put on his clothes. He owes nothing other than that. However, if the interval is long, he must repeat the sa'y, and then shave or shorten his hair. He owes nothing on account of ignorance or forgetfulness; for Allah the Exalted said:
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us.
[Surat al-Baqarah: 286]. It is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Allah the Exalted said:
He has done soقد فعلت
narrated by Muslim in his Sahih. And success is from Allah.
