The Virtue of Being Kind to Daughters

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I ask your Excellency to offer advice to those who have been tested with daughters, and regarding the virtue of raising them and treating them well?

Answer: It is obligatory for one who has been granted daughters to be kind to them and to raise them well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever is tested with any of these daughters and is kind to them, they will be a shield for him from the Fire.من ابتلي بشيء من هذه البنات فأحسن إليهن كن له حجابًا من النار
.
It is a recommended practice to raise them well, to pray for their righteousness, and to be gentle with them. There is glad tidings for him in his kindness to daughters or sisters. He should ask Allah for righteous husbands for them, who will care for them well and obey Allah’s command regarding them.
