The Virtue of Being Kind to Daughters

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Uqbah bin Amir said, I heard the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) say: "Whoever has three daughters and is patient towards them, and feeds them, gives them to drink, and clothes them from his wealth; they will be a shield for him from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.'"من كانت له ثلاث بنات فصبر عليهن وسقاهن وكساهن كن له حجابًا من النار
Sunan Ibn Majah 3669Sahih (Darussalam)
, does this serve as a shield from the Fire for their father only, or does it include the mother? And I have, praise be to Allah, three daughters?

Answer:
This hadith was narrated by Imam Ahmad and Ibn Majah with a valid chain from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
Whoever has three daughters and is patient towards them, and feeds them, gives them to drink, and clothes them from his wealth; they will be a shield for him from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.من كان له ثلاث بنات فصبر عليهن وأطعمهن وسقاهن وكساهن من جدته كن له حجابًا من النار يوم القيامة
Sunan Ibn Majah 3669Sahih (Darussalam)
This indicates the virtue of being kind to daughters and attending to their needs, seeking what is with Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), for that is among the causes of entering Paradise and safety from the Fire.
It is hoped that one who supports sisters, aunts, or other needy relatives other than daughters, and treats them kindly, feeds them, gives them drink, and clothes them, will receive a reward similar to what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned regarding the one who supports three daughters. The favor of Allah is vast and His mercy is immense. Likewise, one who supports one or two daughters or others and treats them kindly is hoped to receive a great reward and abundant recompense, as indicated by the generality of the verses and hadiths regarding kindness to the poor and needy, whether relatives or not.
If this is the virtue of being kind to daughters, then being kind to the parents, or one of them, or the grandparents, or the grandmothers, is greater and has a greater reward, due to the magnitude of the right of the parents and the obligation of being dutiful to them and treating them kindly. There is no difference in this whether the one being kind to is a father, a mother, or someone else, because the ruling is tied to the action. And success is from Allah.
