It is not permissible to sell movable property until it has been taken possession of and secured

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: One of the companies purchases furniture and building materials for those who want them. The customer goes to the company and specifies the furniture or building materials he wants. The customer pays a down payment—similar to car installments—and the remaining deferred amount is paid in monthly installments, with an increase of up to 10% for the company. The company then gives the customer a delivery order so that he can go to the furniture store and collect his furniture himself. The payment of the deferred amount is made to the company that arranged the installments. What is the ruling?

Answer: The company is not permitted to sell furniture or any other movable property until the sale is completed, the item sold is taken into its possession, and it is transferred from the seller’s ownership to another location, after which the sale is then carried out. As for paying a deposit to the company before that, it is not permissible.
Nor is it permitted for them to sell anything until they take possession of it and transfer it from the seller’s location to another place. And success is from Allah.
