Ruling on abandoning work and marriage to devote oneself to worship

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The saying of Allah the Exalted:
and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا
[Al-Muzzammil 73:8]
...?

Answer:
That is, for worship; that is, he worships Him (Exalted and Majestic is He) and strives in His worship. It does not mean that he abandons work.
Q: Who is the one who says that if a person devotes himself to the worship of Allah and dutifulness to his parents, that is better than marriage?
The Shaykh: He should be refuted and it should be made clear to him that this is ignorance. Allah commanded marriage, saying:
And marryوَأَنْكِحُوا
[al-Nur: 32] and He said:
marry those that please youفَانْكِحُوا مَا طَابَ لَكُمْ
[al-Nisa: 3]. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) also commanded it. No one’s speech can take precedence over the speech of Allah and His Messenger. Any speech that contradicts the speech of Allah and His Messenger must be refuted.
Q: The naming of Maryam as al-Batool?
The Shaykh: It means for worship.
