The Ruling on a Woman Refusing Marriage

Question:
The first message in this episode is from one of our female listeners in Jordan, Amman. She says: Umm Muhammad, my sister, like some of the listeners, has recounted a long story about part of her life, and she ended this story with the following questions: Will I be held accountable for not having married all these years? Does my spending on my son count as a reward that exempts me from paying the zakat on my wealth? I sometimes miss the Fajr prayer because of sleep; is this a sin for me? The doctor advised me never to perform Hajj, even though I feel capable of doing so...
The Shaykh: Do you want to repeat them one by one?
The presenter: Be reassured. Will I be held accountable for not having married all these years?
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
There is no doubt that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has prescribed marriage for men and women and commanded it in His great Book; where He, the Exalted, said: [Surat al-Nur: 32], and the noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Mishkat al-Masabih 3080.
So, you, my sister in Allah, if you are able to marry and someone you are pleased with has proposed to you, then you are in danger of sin; because marriage has many benefits, among which are: that it is one of the means to the chastity of the private parts, one of the means to lowering the gaze, one of the means to a good reputation and being far from suspicion, and one of the means to children by whom Allah may benefit you in this world and the Hereafter through their supplications, their righteousness, and their good deeds, and their calling for you, among other things.
However, if marriage was not made easy for you, and it is not within your ability to marry, but that is up to others, then nothing is required of you. A person is only held accountable for his negligence and laxity. But if no one has proposed to you, or if someone has proposed to you whose religion and trustworthiness you do not approve of, then nothing is required of you. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah bless you.

يا معشر الشباب! من استطاع منكم الباءة فليتزوج فإنه أغض للبصر، وأحصن للفرج ، ومن لم يستطع فعليه بالصوم فإنه له وجاءSo, you, my sister in Allah, if you are able to marry and someone you are pleased with has proposed to you, then you are in danger of sin; because marriage has many benefits, among which are: that it is one of the means to the chastity of the private parts, one of the means to lowering the gaze, one of the means to a good reputation and being far from suspicion, and one of the means to children by whom Allah may benefit you in this world and the Hereafter through their supplications, their righteousness, and their good deeds, and their calling for you, among other things.
