Ruling on abandoning marriage due to preoccupation with knowledge and da'wah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 5441 )
Q1: My father wanted to marry me off, but I refused and told him: I am unable to get married at this time because of my preoccupation with knowledge and calling people to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), due to people worshipping other than Allah. But truly, I do not want to get married ever for the following reasons: First: because there are no believing girls who perform the obligations of Allah, and their outward appearance indicates that they associate partners with Allah and believe in the people of
the graves, and this is in the country where we live. As for outside my country, there are believing girls, but I am unable to marry someone from outside the country where we live.
Second: I want to be preoccupied with knowledge and calling people to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and marriage delays me or occupies me from performing the obligation of knowledge. What is your fatwa and the ruling of Islam on this question? And we find that many Muslim scholars, such as Imam Ibn Taymiyyah , did not marry

A1: Marriage is a sunnah (recommended practice) of the messengers, and there is much exhortation to it with many proofs. Among the benefits resulting from it are: lowering the gaze, guarding the private parts, obtaining offspring, and cooperation between the woman and the man in the affairs of life. A young man obtaining marriage does not occupy him from what you mentioned regarding performing the call to Allah; rather, it is a helper for it, because of the tranquility of the soul it contains. We advise you to marry and to strive to choose a wife, even if she is from outside your country. Know that perfection is not attained, neither from women nor from men in this age, except for whom Allah wills. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rebuked a group of the Companions,
One of them said: "As for me, I will pray and not sleep." And the other said: "As for me, I will fast and not break the fast." And the third said: "As for me, I will not marry women." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed of that, he addressed the people, praised Allah and extolled Him, then mentioned this matter, and then said: "As for me, I pray and sleep, I fast and break the fast, and I marry women. Whoever desires to abandon my sunnah (recommended practice) is not from me."

it ended. As for Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him), it has not been established for us with certainty that he did not marry. And if that were established, perhaps he had a preventer from marriage; because one like him is not thought to desire to abandon the sunnah (recommended practice), and he is among the greatest callers to it and the most knowledgeable about it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
