The Shaykh : In this hadith is evidence of the virtue of Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), her scrupulousness, and her knowledge. She possessed knowledge that the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not have. For this reason, she mentioned this hadith to them so that they would refrain from claiming the inheritance.
This is undoubtedly wisdom, in that the Prophets are not inherited from, because if they were inherited from and there were a large amount of spoils, people would suspect them and say: These people are only gathering for themselves, their descendants, and their heirs. So the wisdom was that the Prophets (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon them) are not inherited from, meaning they do not leave behind wealth as an inheritance, but they leave behind knowledge.
When the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were in the state of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passing away, they wanted to send Uthman ibn Affan to Abu Bakr to ask him for their inheritance from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
