The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah.
While the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was prostrating, with a group of Quraysh around him, 'Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ayt came with a camel's foreleg and threw it on the back of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He did not raise his head. Then Fatimah came and removed it from his back and cursed the one who did that. He said: "O Allah, I hold You accountable for the leaders of Quraysh: Abu Jahl ibn Hisham, 'Utbah ibn Rabi'ah, 'Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'ayt, Shaybah ibn Rabi'ah, and Umayyah ibn Khalaf—or Abi ibn Khalaf; Shu'bah was the one uncertain." He said: "I certainly saw them killed on the Day of Badr, and they were thrown into a well, except for Umayyah—or Abi—whose limbs were cut apart, so he was not thrown into the well."
The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah.
