What is the ruling on one who says: Since Aisha went out against Ali and she was interpreting the matter, our denunciation of the rulers and our public demonstration against them is more appropriate?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on one who says: Since Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her and her father) was a rebel in every sense of the word when she went out against Ali, look, you are now saying she was interpreting the matter. So why do you denounce us when we speak openly in denunciation of the rulers, or through statements or demonstrations, and do not allow us an interpretation in this?

The Shaykh : We say: Who is Aisha to you? What kind of woman is she? Is she not your mother? If you criticize her, you have been undutiful to her. And Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) had with her people from the Companions who agreed with her interpretation. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) are not in our position, so that we say if they did something, we do it. Therefore, the scholars obligated the Muslim community not to speak about what happened between the Companions at all, as the poet said:
"And we remain silent about the war of the Companions *** For what happened between them was pure independent legal reasoning".
And we do not argue with that. We have the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), without doubt, those who went out with her against Ali and those with him are closer to the truth than they are, without doubt. But the reference is not the action of Aisha, nor the action of any one of the Companions. The reference is the Book and the Sunnah.

The questioner : Does not analogical reasoning work?

The Shaykh : Analogical reasoning does not work due to the difference. This is what made the imams and scholars say we remain silent about what happened. You walk in the Book and the Sunnah. And what the Book and the Sunnah indicate to be a rebel is a rebel. But it is obligatory upon us to remain silent and say she interpreted and erred, just as she interpreted in other matters besides this one.
