The Doubt That Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) Performed Hajj Alone

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
They say: Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) performed Hajj with Uthman without a mahram, and that a woman would travel from al-Hira to Sana'a, fearing nothing but Allah and the wolf for her sheep?

Answer:
This requires evidence. It is not permissible to say: she performed Hajj without a mahram, without evidence. It is necessary that she have a mahram with her. She had her brother's sons with her, she had her brother Abd al-Rahman with her, and she had her sister Asma's sons with her. The one who says that she performed Hajj without a mahram is lying, unless he has evidence. Then, even if we assume she performed Hajj without a mahram, she is not infallible. Every one of the Companions is not infallible. The proof is in what Allah said and what His Messenger said, not in the statement of so-and-so or so-and-so. What contradicts the Sunnah has no proof in it. The proof is in the pure, authentic Sunnah. This is the known position among the scholars of knowledge and is what they have agreed upon.
Al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The people have agreed that if the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) becomes clear to a person, he has no right to abandon it for the statement of any person."
And Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "None of us is free from being wrong and having others refute him, except the occupant of this grave."
The point is that it is obligatory for the people of Islam and the believers to follow the Sunnah. It is not obligatory to contradict it with the statement of so-and-so or so-and-so or so-and-so. One should not suspect Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who is the well-known jurist, the most learned of the women of the world, that she would contradict the Sunnah and perform Hajj without a mahram, when she is the one who heard the hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
