Explanation of the author's statement: "And washing the feet."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And washing the feet" The author also used the term "feet" in a general sense, but there is a point to consider. We say "to the ankles," because when the word "foot" is used in a general sense, the heel is not included in it. The evidence for this is the case of the highway robbers, whose hands and legs we are obligated to cut off from opposite sides. From where are they cut? From the joint between the heel and the back of the foot, and the heel remains; it is not cut. Therefore, we must qualify the author's statement in the same way the verse qualified it, which is His saying:
and wash your feet to the ankles وأرجلكم إلى الكعبين
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
So they are the two ankles. They are—Abd al-Rahman—these two ankles. Yes.
and wash your feet to the ankles وأرجلكم إلى الكعبين
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
This is the truth, and it is the position of the people of the Sunnah. However, the Rafidah said that what is meant by "ankles" is what bends and rises, namely the bone on the back of the foot, this ridge on the back of the foot. They said this because Allah said:
to the ankles إلى الكعبين
He did not say "to the heels." If you say "ankles," how many heels are there in the legs? There are four. He would have said "to the heels." But since He said "to the ankles," it is known that they are the two ankles on the two feet, and they are these. And it is strange that the Rafidah contradict the truth regarding the purification of the foot in three ways. First, they do not wash the foot; they wipe it. Second, they extend the purification to this protrusion on the back of the foot. Third, they do not wipe over the leather socks either. Wiping over the leather socks is forbidden and not permissible. Thus, they contradicted the truth in three matters, even though one of those who narrated the wiping over the leather socks was 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), who is the imam of imams in their view. In conclusion, the feet are washed to the ankles.
