If a man enters the mosque and wants to drink, should he sit to drink, or should he pray the greeting of the mosque, or should he drink while standing?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good.

The questioner : Praise be to Allah in all circumstances.

The Shaykh : Ah.

The questioner : By saying, "Oh Shaykh!"

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : The student : Sometimes when I enter the mosque, I am thirsty, and I have not yet prayed the greeting of the mosque. Should I drink while sitting, or should I prioritize the prayer?

The Shaykh : Your question is not clear.

The questioner : When I enter the mosque.

The Shaykh : Do not repeat the question; change the question!

The questioner : I will phrase it in another way, okay? When I enter the mosque and I want to drink, I am drinking while sitting, and I have not yet prayed the greeting of the mosque?

The Shaykh : So your question is: do you sit before the greeting?

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : To drink water, by Allah? May Allah guide you; you are like a foreigner! The answer is: do not sit.

The questioner : Okay, should I stand?

The Shaykh : And you will not die if you pray two rak'ahs for Allah and drink afterwards; that is pleasant and easy.

The questioner: Yes.
