The Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen said: "And after

The questioner : And after, it is obligatory upon the servant to fear Allah as much as he is able, and to exert his effort in seeking to know the truth from the Book and the Sunnah. If the truth becomes apparent to him from them, it is obligatory upon him to act upon it, and not to prioritize over them the statement of any person, whoever he may be.
The Shaykh : Whoever he may be, this is dropped in my opinion.
The questioner : Nor any analogy, whatever analogy it may be. In the event of disagreement, it is obligatory to return to the Book and the Sunnah, for they are the straight path and the just, upright balance. Allah the Exalted said:[An-Nisa 4:59] Returning to Allah is returning to His Book, and returning to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is returning to his Sunnah and his guidance, whether he is alive or dead.
And Allah the Exalted said:[An-Nisa 4:65]
So Allah the Exalted swore by His Lordship over His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), which is the most specific Lordship, with a confirmed oath that there is no faith except that we make the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the judge in every dispute among us, and that there be no distress or tightness in our souls regarding what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has judged, and that we submit to that with complete submission through full obedience and execution. Reflect on how the submission was emphasized by the verbal noun, for it indicates that complete submission is necessary, with no deviation in it and no hesitation.
Also reflect on the appropriateness between what is sworn by and what is sworn to. What is sworn by is the Lordship of Allah for His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and what is sworn to is the absence of faith except by making the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the judge with complete judgment, which necessitates openness, obedience, and acceptance. For the Lordship of Allah for His Messenger necessitates that what he judges be in accordance with what his Lord has permitted and approved. For the implication of the specific Lordship of the message is that He does not approve for him an error that He does not approve for him. And if the truth does not become apparent to him from the Book and the Sunnah, it is obligatory upon him to take the statement of the one who he is most convinced is closest to the truth by virtue of the knowledge and religion he possesses. For the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: And the most deserving people of this description are the four Caliphs: Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman, and Ali (may Allah be pleased with them all), for they succeeded the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in his Ummah in knowledge, action, politics, and methodology. May Allah reward them for Islam and the Muslims with the best reward.
And we ask Allah to guide us to His straight path, and to make us among those who saw the truth as truth and followed it, and saw the falsehood as falsehood and avoided it. And Allah knows best, and may Allah send prayers and abundant peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
Written by his servant, the poor one in need of Allah, Muhammad Salih al-Uthaymeen, on the twelfth of the month of Safar, year 1382 AH, and praise be to Allah by whose blessings good deeds are completed.
The Shaykh : ... The one who is forbidden is the one about whom the Messenger said: "The month of Allah, the forbidden month."

The Shaykh : About what?
The questioner : I have a fatwa in the letter regarding the ruling on zakat of jewelry.
The Shaykh : ... .
The questioner : Shaykh 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Baz, 'Abd al-Razzaq 'Afifi, and Shaykh 'Abd Allah al-Ghadyan.

The questioner : Nor any analogy, whatever analogy it may be. In the event of disagreement, it is obligatory to return to the Book and the Sunnah, for they are the straight path and the just, upright balance. Allah the Exalted said:
And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
And Allah the Exalted said:
But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.
