The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the righteous, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. As for what follows: O believing brothers, Allah the Exalted sent Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all other religions. Allah Mighty and Majestic sent him at a time when the messengers had ceased and the paths had become obscured. So Allah made eyes that were blind see through him, and opened ears that were deaf and hearts that were sealed through him. He conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust, advised the nation, and struggled in the cause of Allah with true struggle until certainty came to him. May the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, his family, his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: On this day, we are speaking about what we heard in the recitation of our imam during the Fajr prayer. We are discussing some of the verses he recited, for Allah Glorified and Exalted said in His Book:[Al-Ahzab 33:56] In this verse, Allah Mighty and Majestic informed us that He and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet, who is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He and all His angels send blessings upon Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). What is the meaning of sending blessings upon him? The meaning of sending blessings is that Allah praises him in the highest assembly, as Abu al-‘Aliyah al-Riya’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The prayer of Allah upon His servant is His praise of him in the highest assembly" There is no doubt that this is part of the elevation of mention by which Allah distinguished Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in His saying: [Ash-Sharh 94:1-4] When Allah informed about this great virtue of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), He directed the call to those who believe and said: [Al-Ahzab 33:56] [Al-Ahzab 33:56] Know, O my believing brother, that when Allah the Exalted says: [Al-Baqarah 2:104] the matter is as ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When Allah says 'O you who believe,' give it your ear—meaning listen to it—for it is either good that you are commanded to do, or evil that you are forbidden from" Allah Mighty and Majestic begins what He begins of rulings or news with this call: [Al-Baqarah 2:104] as an indication of care and attention for it, because directing the address to the addressee by calling out means that the speaker wants the addressee to pay attention. For this reason, you will find the difference between saying to you "Muhammad is standing" and saying to you "O so-and-so, Muhammad is standing." The latter sentence is stronger than the former, because my calling out to you means that I am asking you to pay attention.
[Al-Baqarah 2:104] Believe in whom? Believe in what faith is obligatory in. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified faith when Jibril asked him about it, saying: Musnad Ahmad 367, 368Lts isnad is Sahih, Muslim (8) This is faith. Whoever does not believe in these six foundations has no faith.
I say: Allah the Exalted says:[Al-Ahzab 33:56] meaning say "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad." meaning say "O Allah, send peace upon Muhammad," or say as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us: Sunan an-Nasa'i 1171Sahih (Darussalam).
When a person sends peace upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in any place on earth, his sending of peace reaches the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in any place, whether you send peace upon him at his grave, in his mosque, in Makkah, or in any part of the earth, your sending of peace reaches the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). There are traveling angels on earth who, when they hear someone sending peace upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), convey it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
[Al-Ahzab 33:56] This command is for obligation, so it is obligatory for us to send blessings upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and to send peace upon him. It is an obligation for us in every prayer, an obligation for us in every prayer. ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "We used to say before the tashahhud was made obligatory upon us: Peace be upon Allah from His servants, peace be upon Jibril, peace be upon Mika’il, peace be upon so-and-so and so-and-so" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan an-Nasa'i 1298Sahih (Darussalam) And peace is only invoked for one who may be lacking in something, and Allah Mighty and Majestic is free from all deficiency. For this reason, al-Salam (The Peace) is among His names: [Al-Hashr 59:22-23] .
So we say "Peace be upon you, O Prophet." And with what do we invoke peace upon the Messenger? With what does one send peace? One sends peace from every calamity, from every deficiency, from every harm in this world and the Hereafter. People in the Hereafter will need peace, they will need peace and safety, as came in the authentic hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he spoke about crossing the Sirat, he said:.
Likewise, among the peace upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is the safety of his Shari'ah from anyone diminishing it or adding to it. For if you say "Peace be upon you, O Prophet," you do not mean peace upon his person only, but also upon his Sunnah. For the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has enemies, it has many enemies. Enemies who openly declare enmity and denial of the Sunnah, and enemies who do not declare it openly, but the implications of their actions and the necessities of their actions mean that they deny this Sunnah.[Al-Ahzab 33:56].
As for what follows: On this day, we are speaking about what we heard in the recitation of our imam during the Fajr prayer. We are discussing some of the verses he recited, for Allah Glorified and Exalted said in His Book:
Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.
(1) Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast? (2) And We removed from you your burden (3) Which had weighed upon your back (4) And raised high for you your repute.
O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.
O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.
O you who have believed
O you who have believed
O you who have believed
He said: Tell me about faith (Eeman). He said: `Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in al-qadar (the divine will and decree), both good and bad.`
I say: Allah the Exalted says:
O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.
Send blessings upon him
And offer peace abundantly
When a person sends peace upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in any place on earth, his sending of peace reaches the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), in any place, whether you send peace upon him at his grave, in his mosque, in Makkah, or in any part of the earth, your sending of peace reaches the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Do not say peace (salam) be upon Allah (SWT), for Allah (SWT) is As-Salam (the Source of peace; the One free from all faults)
(22) He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. (23) He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection
But say, “Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger.” For if you say that, you have greeted every righteous servant in the heavens and the earth.
So we say "Peace be upon you, O Prophet." And with what do we invoke peace upon the Messenger? With what does one send peace? One sends peace from every calamity, from every deficiency, from every harm in this world and the Hereafter. People in the Hereafter will need peace, they will need peace and safety, as came in the authentic hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he spoke about crossing the Sirat, he said:
And the supplication of the prophets at that time is, “O Allah, grant peace, O Allah, grant peace.”
Likewise, among the peace upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is the safety of his Shari'ah from anyone diminishing it or adding to it.
