How can a believing person increase faith in his heart?

The questioner : O Shaykh, by Allah, I have a question. How does a person increase faith in the heart?

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : How does a person increase the faith in his heart?

The Shaykh : By obeying Allah and His Messenger.

The questioner : Obeying Allah and His Messenger?

The Shaykh : But.

The questioner : Because sometimes my faith is high in my heart, and then some whispers come to me in my heart. So I said, praise be to Allah, some of my brothers directed me to call you!

The Shaykh : Yes, obey Allah and His Messenger in everything they command you to do.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Your faith will increase, your heart will become strong, your soul will find tranquility, and your whispers will go away.

The questioner : In obeying Allah and His Messenger?

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.

The questioner: Allah is the Greatest!
